Finally Motorola has release a cellular phone product that has the send and end buttons on the same sides as every one else in the industry has. The send, or talk button, is on the left and the end button is on the right. Having sold these products in our store here in Canada, this is especially beneficial if you are changing from another brand of cell phone to a Motorola product. It was always confusing when you switch to the Motorola with the buttons on the opposite sides than everyone elses location.

This new v551 employs the new EDGE (or Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution) which is a 3G technology that delivers broadband-like data speeds to mobile devices. It allows consumers to connect to the Internet and send and receive data, including digital images, web pages and photographs, three times faster than possible with an ordinary GSM network.

The Samsung sch a670 is a new video and camera cell phone recently released for Verizon customers. This is Samsung first venture into the video phone market. It is designed much along the lines of the Samsung sch a530, which was another Samsung cell phone manufactured for Verizon Wireless. This cell phone is very attractive looking and is very reasonably priced and even further saving can be had if you sign a multi term service contract.

Even though it is the same model number and looks exactly like the one being review here, it does not have the video camera like the one being sold through Verizon in the US other than that, it is the exact same phone.

Having sold this phone and based on personal feed back, this Samsung a670 has performed well and is well accepted by the overall buyers of this product.

First we will look at some of the pro qualities of the phone. The sch a670 both looks good and feels good. It small stylish design makes it easy to handle and carry.

The built in flash helps enhance the lower light shots on the VGA quality pictures. You are able to save approximately 30 of them in the camera phone. Lower the resolution you are able to store up to about 180 pictures. The outside LCD allows you to close the cover and take a picture of yourself while viewing it through the cover LCD screen.

Reception for the Samsung a670 is considered to be very good in digital coverage. On the downside this CDMA cellular phone only has 800mhz and 1.9ghz coverage with no amps or analog coverage. This is a disadvantage if you live in some rural areas where there is only analog coverage, the phone simply will not work in these areas.

If your previous or present cell phone is encased in plastic you will really like the fact that this phone is encased in a durable metal housing. It looks better than plastic and is less scratch resistance, and just makes look better overall.

The download capability it pretty much standard and you will probably use it to download a couple of ringtones, as there is a limited number of factory default ones to chose from.

Getting back to the picture taking part of the phone, a feature I like is the fact that you can use your pictures taken, as wallpapers for both startup and shut down screen savers. Even though this camera phone can record about 12 seconds of video it can not be sent over the internet but it can be used as screen savers on your phone.

Messages containing about 160 characters in length can be text messaged to any of your contacts. You can combine an image from your sch a670 with a text message as well, and then send that to another one of your contacts. This can only be able to be done if the receiving cell phone has the capability to accept picture messaging. If you really want to deliver the whole message package, you can combine a sound recording, picture image and text message all in one.

On the downside...

This cell phone does not have a lot of downside, but still a few. The fact that it does not have a speaker phone or Bluetooth technology does make it seem not quite with the times when it comes to the latest in new innovation.

Most cellular phones also have the tri-mode capability which make them more universal when traveling throughout cities, towns and rural areas in North America.

The lack of a infra red port and a limited memory have been expressed by users of this product.
